YEAR BY YEAR
1995...
CLUBLIFE
- 65 activities in Belgium,
20 foreign caves.
-A couple of "young
wolves" (Mark, Michel...) join the club.
BELGIUM
- We finish the work in the
Grotte aux Contrastes.
- 18 weekends of very hard
labour in Trou Weron and Chantoir Dellieux yield 600 m. of virgin
passages; the "Réseau Nord". The climax is the
junction between the two caves that we establish in september and
which creates one big cave: the Weron-Dellieux System, over 3000
m.
- A flash flood blocks two
of our team in the Chantoir Dellieux. The
"rescue" mobilizes a lot of people, and (without
wanting it) we get on Belgian radio and TV with
it.
- But THE surprise was the
discovery of one of the most beautiful caves in the country; the
"Grotte des Emotions". At the end of the year,
after tens of days of work, we already have 1200 m. of
galleries. The caves gives access to an important
underground river.
- We now total over 5000 m.
of new passages in Belgium and can start dreaming about the next
step, 10 kilometres! 5 years ago, we were still
despairing that we would never find a new cave; nowadays we find
too much!
FOREIGN
CAVING
- Two visits to the french
Doubs, two visits to the U.K. (Wales & Yorkshire) and a 10
day stay in the "Causses" (Gorges du Tarn).
- The summer holiday is
spent in the french Chartreuse. We make many a through-trip
in the Dent de Crolles, one of France's biggest caves.
