YEAR by YEAR
2000...
CLUBLIFE
- We had a “frantic” year, with many activities, and with more variation than
the past few years (that had been almost exclusively under the sign of the
exploration of “Bois de Waerimont”). A few new
members joined our ranks.
BELGIUM
- Still many trips in Bois de Waerimont in
order to finish the exploration of Réseau du Printemps, but also to start
some new digs such as the risky "Mecano" (see
picture).
- Some
interesting discoveries where made in Chawresse,
Grotte de Borlon, Trou du Palan,
Le Pressoir and Bebronne,
sometimes after long and intensive digging Works (e.g.
Pressoir).
FOREIGN CAVING
- In the
Anialarra System we established an underground camp near the bottom
at -600 m. We discovered over 400m of galeries but
unfortunately they didn’t allow us to get passed the terminal boulder choke of
the cave system at -648m.
- We had several
4-day stays in the French Doubs
( e.g. we bottomed Montaigu,
-360m), but above all we had a magnificent stay in the Var
department (Frankrijk) where we bottomed many caves
such as Cyclopibus (-370 m) .
- Our first
mini-Anialarra Expedition in October suffered from
heavy snowfall, but a trip in the splendid Arresteliako
Ziloa (>55000 m long, -800m) was a good
compensation for the lost days.
